Fatma Demir
Biography
Dr. Fatma Demir received her PhD from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) in 2014 at the department of Physical Chemistry and Polymer Science (FYSC). During her PhD, she specialized in the phase behavior and crystallization kinetics of polymer: fullerene active layers of organic solar cells. Between 2015 and 2017, she had her first postdoctoral research for an EU funded Horizon 2020 Marie Skłodowska Curie Actions Cofund Brain Circulation Scheme program in the Middle East Technical University. She had her second postdoctoral study in Bilkent University for another two years, focusing on the mechanochemistry, contact electrification, triboelectricity and smart & self-responsive polymers for soft-robotic systems. Currently, she is working in the FYSC and R&MM in the VUB as the ‘Postdoctoral Research and Project Manager’ of EU funded projects: MSCA-SMART ITN (Soft, Selfresponsive, Smart Materials for Robots) and MSCA-DurAMat-DN (Sustainable production, processing and modelling of durable additive manufactured materials).
